    About Hahnemühle

There are very few companies worldwide that can be proud of such a long company history like Hahnemühle’s. Founded back in 1584 as a paper mill in South Lower Saxony’s Solling uplands, Hahnemühle developed – strictly according to the spirit of its founding fathers – into a customer-oriented and innovative manufacturing facility.

It goes without saying that the products and manufacturing methods have changed to a certain extent since 1584. In the beginning, the product range solely comprised mould-made writing paper but later, artist papers and the Hahnemühle invented fine-art inkjet papers for digital print were added to the range. Furthermore, Hahnemühle papers have been used for decades in industrial production or manufacturing processes as well as in research laboratories. At the same time, several things have remained the same, such as our high quality standard that guarantees our customers the purest papers for art or technical applications.

Our paper technologists are proficient in their trade. With high-quality pulp and by using formulations that are partly several centuries old, they produce traditional artist papers, FineArt inkjet papers and speciality papers for industry and filtration. We are – in the positive sense – perfectionists and reliable partners for artists, technicians and scientists. We produce papers according to their demands, work jointly with them on improving these papers permanently and develop papers for new market segments.

    Hahnemühle collaborates with EVA

At Hahnemühle, gripping pictures are always in demand. And even more so when it comes to the design for product packaging. After all, the customer should understand at first glance what it’s all about: the perfect reproduction of great pictures. Seeking subjects for the ‘Hahnemühle Photo’ line, gave young photographers the opportunity to present their works. “With ‘EVA//Schule für Fotografie//Hamburg‘ we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with for our idea,” stated Hahnemühle product manager Andrea Sippel, and added: “With their fresh presence, the works visualise the paper’s credo.”

Hahnemühle Photo was conceived as an everyday print product for a demanding clientele, that expects high quality at reasonable prices for their daily work. The picture series comprises a total of 10 works provided by eight students. Three of the pictures can be seen on the product boxes in different sizes. Nine of the works are used for a sample book that demonstrate all the different types of paper within the line. The types differ by their surface structure and the level of gloss. No matter if black and white or coloured, matt or gloss: every individual work has got its special effect and demonstrates the impressive reproduction performance of the papers. “Due to the consistently positive experiences, we regard this collaboration as the start of many more partnerships with colleges and young artists,” explained Sippel who is already looking forward to future projects.

Hahnemühle Photo is a basic assortment of universally usable inkjet papers that are ideal for daily printing. This easy to use paper range display a very good quality and provide an attractive price point, making them an excellent choice for standard photos, poster prints and photo books. Cellulose based natural papers or resin coated substrate materials, combined with an optimised inkjet coating for photo application, ensure the best results for everyday printing.

  8. Canon launches imagePROGRAF TX series to satisfy high end productivity

Canon launches imagePROGRAF TX series to satisfy high end productivity

Canon, world leader in imaging solutions, has launched a completely new line-up of large format inkjet printers: the imagePROGRAF TX-2000, TX-3000 and TX-4000, available in 24-inch, 36-inch and 44-inch sizes.  The new devices offer productivity, usability and security, alongside beautiful print quality and low running costs, making it ideal for both the high-end CAD inkjet market and the entry-level LED plotter market. The series also includes an MFP solution, imagePROGRAF TX-3000MFP T36 and TX-4000MFP T36, equipped with fast scanning, and newly developed LUCIA TD pigment ink. With updates to all core technologies including the ink system, print head and mechanical platform, the new imagePROGRAF TX series printers are perfect for customers looking for high-production, high-quality printing, in colour and at competitive speeds.

    ImagePROGRAF TX Series Printers

Superior print quality with every sheet

The newly developed LUCIA TD ink produces fine lines, sharp text and vibrant colours, making it perfect for high-precision CAD drawings and posters alike. Specifically formulated for weather resistance, including water resistance, printed drawings can be viewed at outdoor construction or engineering sites, in long-term storage and on outdoor posters. Thanks to superb colour reproduction even on plain paper, ink performance exceeds the needs for poster quality on both coated and uncoated paper.

Duncan Smith, Canon UK’s , states: “The world of print continues to change and Canon is pioneering in the industry to ensure we’re delivering against the changing needs of our customers. Where previously, CAD drawings were printed in centres using LED plotters, today, many offices or construction sites require their own inkjet printers to produce drawings on demand. In response to this, we’ve designed a high performance, high-speed inkjet that’s ideally suited to replace entry-level LED plotters that comes with a host of other advantages such as colour printing, low TCO as well as unbeatable quality and sharpness.”

    Game changing productivity

All models in the imagePROGRAF TX series, including the 36-inch, can be expanded with two rolls. The optional dual-roll system enables high-volume printing from two rolls of the same kind, or hassle-free switching between different media types to meet various printing needs. The imagePROGRAF TX series also accepts rolls up to 170mm in diameter, with the lower unit equipped with a multifunction roll system, enabling users to take advantage of the continuous output and rewinding printouts on rolls. A new high-capacity stacker also offers holding room for 100 A0 sheets, and can be easily folded up to save space when not in use.

The series includes an MFP solution equipped with a 36 inch Colortrac scanner. The scanner features a generous 15.6-inch touchscreen panel, streamlined structure, integrated design and SmartWorks MFP version 5 with customisable menus and buttons. The new copy and archive mode improves productivity and makes it ideal for supporting office workflows, whatever the printing environment. The intuitive UI, straightforward roll loading and direct printing from USB flash drives offer optimum usability.

    Powerful and secure printing

With a powerful L-COA PRO high-speed image processor, even data-heavy HP-GL/2 files such as electrical CAD drawings with intricate lines can be processed quickly. In addition, newly added disk encryption, protocol locking and secure data transmission makes the imagePROGRAF TX series devices some of the most robust on the market, with measures such as SNMPv3 and IPSec support to prevent leaks and intrusions.

Hiroaki Shirakawa, LFP Product Management Manager, Canon Europe, concludes: “The newest line-up of products has advanced features to expand into higher-volume print markets, in a compact model, suitable for any office size. The imagePROGRAF TX Series is dedicated to a high balance between print quality, speed and productivity, alongside other enhancements such as more reliable security. Fast printing, high-precision, usability and compatibility with CAD systems are fundamental requirements for both users of high-end inkjets and entry-level LED plotters. We’re looking forward to launching our new product line-up this year. ”

The new imagePROGRAF TX series and their MFPs will be available across EMEA from early December 2017

    About Canon

Canon is a world-leading innovator and provider of imaging and information technology solutions for the home and office environments.

    Our business

The main business focus for Canon (UK) Ltd is in two clearly defined market segments:

    • Business Imaging covering both the office and professional printing environments including: multifunctional printers, IT consultation, photocopiers, printers, large format printers, fax machines, document management hardware and software, solutions and services.
    • Consumer Imaging - input solutions such as film and digital SLR cameras, digital still compact cameras, camcorders, binoculars, calculators and scanners and output solutions - inkjet and laser printers, faxes, desktop all-in-ones and multimedia projectors.

In addition to our business and consumer operations, Canon's Broadcast Division is an extension of our product portfolio covering the supply and servicing of professional lenses and their accessories to the Television Broadcasting industry.

    Heritage

Canon’s success story began in Japan in the 1930s, when a small group of enthusiastic scientists set out to establish their presence in camera technology. The company first established a presence in the UK in 1976. At that time its activities were confined to the sale of calculators, micrographic equipment, copiers and similar products for the business market. In 1982 a separate camera sales operation was merged to form Canon (UK) Ltd, and since then the company has grown to become a world-leading provider of market-driven digital imaging solutions for the office and home environments.

    Company philosophy – "Kyosei"

In 1988, one year after celebrating its 50th anniversary, Canon first adopted “kyosei” meaning “living and working together for the common good” as the corporate philosophy. Nowhere is this better reflected than at Canon’s UK headquarters at Woodhatch near Reigate in Surrey where the emphasis is strongly on achieving greater harmony between individuals and their working environment.

    Our headquarters

Canon invested more than £21 million in the construction of its UK Headquarters at Woodhatch, Surrey, and the building was officially opened by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in April 2000. The purpose-built head office fuses visually stunning architecture with the latest in business solutions technology. The environmentally friendly building is landscaped to blend into the natural slope of a hill, preserving existing meadowland and tree areas.

The concept of energy conservation was adopted from the outset, with the recycling of demolition material and the preservation of the original site. Solar panels generate up to 35kw of power, and energy is further conserved through various features, including a natural air conditioning system and the use of special heat-absorbing concrete. Designed to showcase the company’s cutting edge products, the building is not only a landmark but also a symbol that represents everything Canon values - a "living showroom".

    Awards

Woodhatch is the recipient of nine awards including the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust 2001 Building of the Year Award, and the project also achieved the highest rating by BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) for its energy saving initiatives. This impressive building made such an impact in its own community that it won The Reigate Society Award 2000. Other awards received were The Civic Trust Award 2001, British Council for Offices (Best Corporate Workplace 2000), British Institute of Facility Managers (Green Office of the Year Award 1999), Institution of Structural Engineers (Structural Award 2000), Brick Awards 2000 (encompassing Best Commercial Building and Landscape Project) and the Times/Gestetner Digital Office Collection 2000.

Canon Europe’s strategy for 2013 is to create sustained profitable growth, by strengthening core business, building its future solutions and services business, and improving capabilities. Through three separate transformation programmes, Canon Europe aims to combine the strengths of recently acquired companies to deliver efficiencies and enhanced performance.

Canon Europe’s presence in Europe is strengthened through its pan-European brand platform, You Can. Launched in 2002, You Can is designed to encourage customers to explore their creativity and be empowered by Canon’s technologies. Canon is passionate about the Power of Image and wants to inspire customers and partners to realise their passion to bring image to life.

Operating under its global philosophy of Kyosei, Canon Europe aims for sustainable growth as the organisation strives to deliver value in all markets, to all customers and stakeholders.
